That actually brings up another point. Aside from a dealer buying a collection who would most likely break it up. Would I really want to buy a collection. Isn't the trip of getting to where you are, finding a new chip, doing the research and all the rest the real reason to collect?
It is for that reason if no other I collect for the joy of collecting. I have never looked at this hobby as an investment. You may or may not know but at one point I owned 1/2 of an art gallery. We didn't sell cutsie pictures of little girls with big eyes but quality prints many in the 5 figure range.
I learned a lot doing that.
The lot I learned is collect what you love and if by miracle it increases in value consider yourself lucky.
I think if you looked at all those that view our hobby as a business or more of a business than a hobby, you would be hard pressed to find a good handful of those that actually make a living at it
