Obsolet Calif. Cardrooms
The old historic cardrooms of California. Most of these were small cardrooms so the chips were made in small quantities. Most have been run out of business by the Indian Casinos of today. The gaming regulations in California became so severe and expensive to comply with and the Indians were exempt. The older cardroom chips in good to mint condition are still climbing in value and prices are still in range for the average collector. It is still possible to buy an old Calif. cardroom chip that there is only one or two known to still exist for $500.00 as compared to $50,000.00 for a Nevada chip with the same rarity. I think the Calif. chip will double in value within 3-5 years. I cant see that happening with other chips. As an investment counselor, my recommendation are the obsolete CA. chips. I do think the more valuable chips of today such as Ivories, Crest and Seals and the rare Nevada chips will continue to hold or rise in value, but a little slower. Rare chips from other areas would fall in this catagory also, such as the Splash chips.
Just my opinion
