Mike; Exactly my point. You didn't have to VOTE for the chip you nominated. You would have nominated in order to serve on the judges panel and then make a final decision. In all probability, you would have seen chips that you liked BETTER than the one you nominated ... but why should the club take on the expense of sending judging materials to every member who has no interest in participating in the activity ... or printing images of every chip/token/slot card/room key that was nominated during that year in the club magazine.
By nominating under the old rule, you would have expressed an interest in serving as a judge. It remains to be seen how the new rules will work ... and at what expense.
