It's been a real pleasure serving the last two terms with my two good friends, Steve and Doug. I know that you two have had the "busy" jobs, and that the VP does not have the "daily responsibilities" that your positions entail. I think, though, that very few people realize the degree of commitment of time that is involved with serving on the Board of Directors and, frankly, that is why I have chosen not to run again. My real-life job keeps me extremely busy every day, and I also, as you know, have to travel extensively for it. Additionally, the day-to-day maintenance of The Chip Rack has also been extraordinarily time-consuming. Because of these factors, keeping up with the ongoing dialog which is the lifeblood of the Board of Directors has been a challenge for me. It was, however, very satisfying and when I retire (hah!) I'm sure I'll make another run at it.
That said, I'm sure that Sheldon will make an excellent officer and mesh well with the rest of the Board. He's proven over the years that he cares deeply about the Club, he's always been involved, and he has the time and wherewithall to be extremely effective on the Board. I applaud him for stepping up to the plate!
