The show is real....
And the items are real but some of the "sellers" are staged. I work with a guy who was in there with his dad because his dad watched the show and they approached my friend and asked him if he would like to be on the show. He told them he didn't have anything to sell or pawn and they said it's ok because some people who bring stuff in do not want to be on TV and they need someone else to pretend the item is theirs. My friend went along and they ran the segment as if he was the owner making up a story as to how he acquired the items. The prices paid for the items were true. So I would say that they do buy anything there and they do pay what they show on the show but the sellers may or may not be the real owners. I personally haven't been in the shop to check out anything but now I think I might have to make a trip someday.
