David... The "East Coast" is quite a broad expanse of real estate!
I can tell you that Tom Pleau tried unsuccessfully to conduct a few chip shows in Ocean City, NJ (about ten miles south of Atlantic City) on several past occassions. The support (attendance) for his efforts was not that great, as a result the dealers were not particularly overjoyed, and the following year with less dealer tables and about the same attendance, caused his experiment to come to a screeching halt.
If you live in the mid-Atlantic Region, within a 300 mile radius of A.C., I would strongly suggest that you attend one of the Atlantic City Chapter meetings. While not billed as a "show" it probably draws as many table-top dealers as some of the smaller independent shows that used to be run in Las Vegas. Well over 100 club members are in attendance at each meeting, which resembles a chippers flea market. Buying, Selling, Trading is the norm at these Chapter meetings. BTW; the next A.C. Chapter meeting is scheduled for this Sunday (September 17th) at Noon at Resorts International Hotel Casino's Starlight Ballroom. Visitors are always welcome.
