Over the years, I have seen many times where a "reserve" auction will never meet the reserve amount, while at the same time, there is another auction for a similar item that has started at a low price with no reserve & ended up with a final closing price above what the other auction's "reserve" price was. A lot of people (including & especially me ) don't like chasing reserves & just won't bid.
