Seems as though the worst is over. The Keys, especially Key West, Big Pine Key & Marathon are getting the brunt of Hurricane Georges. I haven't spoken to my fellow Florida chipper as yet, so I don't know how well south Dade county has done. We in Broward were spared & all seems to be well. No reports, as yet, of any boat captains attempting to outrun this storm. The boats that would be affected by the storm would be the SunCruz boats in Key Largo, & Hollywood. SeaEscape & Discovery are ocean going liners & would have no trouble with winds & high seas. The storm appears to be heading up whe west coast of Florida & could impact the boats in Tampa, Port Richey, Tarpon Springs, & Ft. Myers. We are still under a tropical storm warning, which may produce heavy rains & winds up to 45 miles an hour. All watches & warnings should be lifted by tonight, although I think I'm going to stay in port for the rest of the weekend. More information later if it is warranted.
BTW: In preparing for the storm I bought a case of Vienna sausages. I HATE these things worse than SPAM. If anyone would like a can, please let me know.<g>
