Many of the newer proprietary PC's such as HP, Compaq, Dell, and a number of others, can be fairly cantankerous when it comes to memory. Just installing the right "type" is not always sufficient. With the stacks thing, it sounds like that is probably your difficulty. You may need to order or otherwise locate memory manufactured by and/or for your particular machine. Good luck!
