Wow, you can find anything with Google. Never did this before. I put "inflated value of us dollar years" into the Google search engine, and the top result was this page of the "Inflation Calculator - US Bureau of Labor Statistics":

According to them $1000 in 1930 = $12,953.89 in 2009.
