I thought about tape, but I was afraid I would damage the chips. I'm glad it worked out for you. I countersunk a hole in the airtites and screwed them to the plaque, so I never have to worry about them coming off. The other nice thing with the airtites is that you can change out the chips if you want to change the look of the clock. I also put a small notch in the cover so that it is easy to pop off with a small screwdriver.
As far as taking orders, I would have to add up what I have into it and a maybe little for my labor, but the nice thing is I can personalize it with your name, or club number or whatever as long as it fits. The next one I make, I think I will stain it before I engrave it, then clearcoat over the engraving. This one, I put on two coats of clear, then engraved it, then painted in the letters by hand, then another coat of clear. It looks nice, but is very time consuming painting the letters. Of course, you could order it either way and pay the difference if you want to. If I do decide to make some more, and if I get enough orders, I'd like to try and make one with the museum logo that can be auctioned off at the convention for the museum fund. As far as any extra chips, I'd have to look, but I have to tell you - finding them was half the fun!
I won't be doing anything until after the holidays, but when I do, I'll post a message on this board.
Have a great day!
