A friend of mine and I were talking about video poker machines, particularly our favorite, Double Double Bonus. He says the casinos here in Reno are "cranking them down". I said that I thought the only way they could change the odds was to change the payoffs, i.e. change a 9-6 machine, to 8-5, etc. He says that he thinks they can set the machine so that it only brings three of a kind so many times, etc. My understanding is that the game uses a full deck with random deals.

I tried to find out something on the gaming commission website, no luck.
