... and make everything right?"

As you may know, Bob, I have announced that I am running for club president in the next election. I do not, however, expect to be able to make everything "right", at least not for everybody. Nor should any other candidate (or member) harbor the expectation that any one person (or any board of five members) is going to be able to be all things to everyone.

I have offered my thoughts on a variety of subjects (and will speak on others as the campaign goes on). I hope some of my ideas will find broad acceptance among the club's members (if not, of course, I'll be looking for other "work" <g>).

However, I do not think that running for office is a necessary prerequisite to expressing one's opinions on club matters. Not everyone has the time (or the inclination) to run for office. That alone doesn't mean their thoughts and opinions are unworthy of expression. The few members who can hold office (five, as things stand), NEED to know what the rest of the membership thinks. So, I hope everyone who cares about what happens to the club will continue to express their opinions -- I just hope they can do so in a rational, civilized manner! <g> ----- jim o\-S
