If there is a registration fee imposed, I feel any non-member (chapter member or not) should pay whatever the general public would pay. I'm against this whole idea and cannot figure why someone would expect to sail under the club's colors and name without joining the club. I'm highly insulted as a club member as to why our officers even considered such a move (less the ANA factor that I will search) The $20 chapter dues (per chapter club member) does not cover anywhere near what chapters receive in return from the club for that $20. There are way too many benefits for this minimum $20...and to also provide these benefits to someone who has no interest in the club is not, in my honest opinion, a movement of style.
If the Floridian Chapter was indeed behind this action to help the cause of this change, I can no longer be an officer of the Floridian Chapter.
I would also like to add that I will knowingly not extend any business favors or discounts to any chapter member who is not a member of the club. I will still respect their interests and love for what they collect, and I will try my best to have them cinsider joining our fine organization.
I cannont understand how the founder of our club did not stand up at the business meeting. This is truly a very sad day for me.
I'm not a quitter, and I've never dropped out of anything or stepped down from any position in all of my 58-years. This is a first for me.
Sorry to have to pour out this feeling to you all...as I cannont hold it in.
Thank you,
John Benedict, R-388 (and still a loving member of the club and the Floridian Chapter).
While there is life, there is hope.
