Donna,
I have sold Casino Chips on eBay for almost 2 yrs and have over 500 Positive Feedbacks with No Negatives....when I first started selling, I tried to offer free postage by sending the chips in a regular envelope and paying the $.33 Postage myself...
I lost over 2 dozen Chips before I realized that the Post Office's Cancelling Machine was squeezing the chips out of the envelope, but it never once occured to me that it was ANYONE'S fault other than my own.....I made good on each and every auction even though nobody bought insurance...
If I was selling something that I bought for $25 and sold Outside of eBay) days later, I would certainly protect my interests regardless of what the buyer wanted. I wrongly assumed that since Dean Clark was paying for Postage that he would insure it himself...nothing was ever said to the contrary...
I've learned as I go <G>...I now ship in Bubble Wrap mailers big enough to require them to be hand cancelled.....I always insure when I can not replace the chip or when it's for alot of $$$.....AND........I DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH DEAN CLARK!!!!!!!!
