What I didn't tell you, is that we had car trouble on the way there.
About 15 miles this side of Searchlight, the car just stopped dead. You have to realize, that this is in the absolute middle of no place.
I went under the hood, and determed that the carb was not getting any gas. After determining that the problem was not the fuel pump or the fuel filter we called triple A. An hour and a half later a flat bed tow truck arrives, and agrees to take us to Bullhead AZ. where he knows a good mechanic.
In Bullhead city, they determin that the problem is a piece of crap in the needle valve at the carb, causing the valve to stay shut thus no gas.
Anyway, we left Las Vegas at 11am, and finally checked into the hotrod show at 5pm. a 6 hour trip from Las Vegas to Laughlin a trip of 120 miles from our door to the Riverside.
This past week, I got a phone call from one of the officers of the River Cruisers, the host club for the Laughlin event, wanting to know if I was going to be at the show at Railroad Pass this weekend. I replyed that I would be there, and they said good bye.
Well today, they presented me with their hard luck award for my problems getting to the Laughlin show.
Why am I telling all of you this? Because I wanted to share the award with you.
So here it is.....
If you can't read the plaque, it says Hard luck award "I got flushed"
If you open the lid, there is a mirror, and it reads "Ya it's you"
