Seems the way it is put "He forgot to redeem" just fails to pass the smell test. Looks to me like the writer was more interested in portraying Hughes as some sort of greedy degenerate who couldn't even keep track of mundane matters such as gaming chips. I've seen this in other hughes aricles. Nowadays folks just can't fathom that being superrich is sometimes the result of a lot of hard work and brains. Makes people feel better if they can move the rich guy back down to their level. Also keep in mind the ignorance of the public about obsolete chips. Makes a good story the way WSJ wrote it but I ain't buying "neeglected to redeem".
Too bad Bob Maheau isn't around so's we can ask him about HH and betting.
