The following are eleigible for arbitration and unless McCourt is willing to make substantial pay raises could be lost to Free Agency :

Ethier, Kemp, Loney, Martin, Billingsly, Broxton, Sherrill and Kuo. They could join Free Agents Hudson, Garland, and Belliard. In addition, Manny has an opt out clause in his 20 million dollar contract for 2010.

The penalty we made for giving short contracts to save money. The only players we really have locked in of any signifcance are furcal, Blake, Kuroda and Kershaw.

With the draw we have at Dodger stadium there is no justification in not being able to support a 130-140 million dollar payroll and still make money.

I am thinking we will probably end up fielding a weaker team next year than we did this year.
