To set up this story: My parents live in Wellington, so my daughter has been with me many times when I’ve gone to Sonic to see if Greg was working. My daughter never got to meet Greg but has known about Greg for all of her life. My daughter also knew about Greg’s funeral and that it was important why I was going to Wellington to attend the funeral. My daughter is very bright, caring child who is much wiser that a lot of other children her own age (I can say that because I’m a proud father).

Last night after coming back from the funeral in Wellington, I had to pick up my 8 year old daughter from her school (my wife was holding a HOA meeting there and since I was late getting home and they were both there). As we walked out of the school it was raining pretty hard outside. I had told my daughter that it had rained all the way from the funeral in Wellington to Kansas City. My daughter’s response to me as we were walking from to the car was: “Maybe the earth is crying because Greg has died”. My response back to her was "you might be right".
