A lot of people think they should focus their collections. Some focus on a specific geographic area, some focus on certain denominations, some people focus on chip themes or colors. Some focus on chips, or ashtrays or slot cards or room keys or matches or china or glassware or dice or tokens or fun books or a specific casino or....
Our collection is the biggest mish-mash of stuff that you've ever seen...and we love it all! Well...Jim Follis' collection might be even more of a mish-mosh than ours, but we have a 'variety' of stuff, for sure!
We mostly limit our stuff to Nevada (every now and then we'll pick up something from other locations...sigh.... ), but that's about the only limit that we have. Our chip collection isn't very big, probably somewhere between 1200-1500...not many for 11 or so years of collection, but we also have several hundred ashtrays, hundreds of postcards and matchbooks, dozens of plates/bowls/glassware, hundreds of matchbooks, keychains, funbooks, phone books, etc.
Anyway, the point is, the hobby should be fun and (to me) the best way to have fun is to collect what you love.
