my niece is picking me up later today, spending the night at her house and having a BBQ tomorrow. eating pain pills and muscle relaxers like candy....cant even lay down to sleep....got my hospital bill from UMC sat....12K.....For 3 nights? geesh....does that include the ambulance ride?.....the day I went home from the hospital, the told me at 9am that I would be able to leave in a couple hours...i was getting pain meds every 4 hours and a muscle relaxer every 6 hrs....had my meds at 6am...didnt get the ones at 10am since i would be leaving shortly...normally they would have sent me home with pills and just added the meds to my bill, but since I had VA insurance, they would just give me a perscription...so left the hospital at 11am with my perscriptions...went to my VA clinic....oh no they say....we do not fill outside scripts....you'll have to go to the VA hospital at Nellis....so off I went to Nellis....my niece is driving me...and its a long walk to pharamcy....their I was told the same thing...we dont fill outside scripts....its now 1:15....so I said lets go to walmart and I'll just pay for the meds...get to walmart and there closing from 1:30 to 2 for lunch, they said I could hang around and they would take the scripts at 2 and should have them by 3....my niece said screw this, we'll just go to walgreens and get em filled for 4 bucks each...off we go to walgreens... get there, same thing, closed for lunch, opening back up in 5 mins....give them the scripts and they said will fill them right away....GREAT...in major pain at this time....call my name, go to the counter and they tell me the Dr's id perscription number is good only at the UMC hospital...WHAT?.....so off we go to UMC again..have no clue where the pharmacy is....end up back on the 4th floor nurses station...where I was at...tell them that the VA wont fill the scripts and cant get them filled anywhere else because of the DR's script # is only valid at the hospital....(because he is a resident, his lic # is only good there)..so have another dr write a script that i can get filled anywhere....well, no drs are around...she calls over to pharmacy and they will fill them....well, if they could have filled them in the first place why didnt you tell me that....I was told, again because I had VA, the pharmacy wouldnt fill them)...but she got it cleared....so off to pharmacy, wait in line to drop off scripts for 30 minutes....then they tell me it will be about an hour and a half....which is good cuz normally its a 2 to 3 hous wait.....unbelieveable!!!...finally get my meds at 6pm..thanks
