Actually, I'd much prefer a mutually cooperative relationship with eBay, in which they'd be willing to receive and act on the expert opinions of club members. Even then, of course, if there was a direct conflict (both the club and another seller auctioning the same item), there might still be a problem. Off the top of my head, I'd say one of two things would have to happen in that situation: either the club would have to stay out of the other auction or would have to cancel its own.
Perhaps eBay would be more receptive to the suggestion that they consider our opinions on fraudulent, misleading and deceptive chip auctions if that suggestion came from the President of the only national and international organization devoted to the chip collecting hobby. <g>
