...that I, too, agree with the concept that it would
be nice if such educational tools were to be donated
or made available to the club...but it's not
happening (in certain cases). Too many years have
past where some
educational material has been held back...or as
stated "controlled" or "controlled with
restrictions." Too many years!!!!
Regarding the club and online auctions: I've not
yet read where any suggestions favor the club being
in compitition with dealers. Profits will be made
by the club regarding club auctions no matter which
way the club chooses to auction this material.
Luckilly, those profits are being spent wisely to
run the club. By following Jim Reilly's peoposal
there is room for even more profits (not as in
business as you claim) to be made to further run our
club in making it the best it could be.
Regarding "many members and not a select few"
concerns: Here is where we do not know what the
future holds for us, Jim. Times and interests
change constanyly within our membership and there is
no knowing who will be interested in what as time
passes...but to go without planning to further
education would be to stand still. We cannot and
will not stand still because you and some others
feel
that there are these bad guys out there who are
going to make a buck and rip us with this
information that may be available in the future.
This thinking I cannot
accept. This thinking I will not stand behing.
As I've told you in private e-mails, Jim, I like
reading your stimulating posts...it causes some to
think and brings forth more questions and make
further suggestions....but this "I only collect
Pongo-Poo-Poo" attitude does not cut it. It's the
selfless thinking that will bring us forward....not
the selfish thinking as illustrated. Yes, to dream that records
will be donated is wishful (and it may just happen),
but we cannot just sit back waiting for these dreams
to come true.
Jim Reilly for president.... the future leader of
our club and the man who believes our club has a
bright future....
