If someone was already a Life Member, they would have the right to give/trade/sell the membership rights. No one has the "rights" to give, trade or sell a membership to the
. But using a raffle to raise enough funds to purchase a Life Membership does not sound unacceptable. Once again, the "winner" would have to meet the club's qualifications to become a Life Member and would have to have sufficient raffle funds to pay the age-appropriate LM fees. If that winner wishes to transfer those winning raffle funds to someone else in order for that person to secure a Life Membership, I can't see that as being an issue at all.
Once again, if the membership wishes to persue this very good idea AND wants any BoD involvement, it would be best to post this suggestion on the club board. Otherwise, I would guess that if an individual or group of individuals wished to run this raffle, they could do that as well.
