This was 1998 and I think this was the old Gold Strike, on the way to Hoover Dam. They had a collection of old slots in the basement (along with the restrooms ). They had the machines behind a railing...probably to keep people from playing them . If I remember right, the place burned down then reopened as the Gold Strike, now it's the Hacienda. (I think!?)
I wish we'd carried a camera (or had taken it out of the trunk more often! ) on earlier trips, too. Who knew?? Michael B's post reminded me that we actually were in the World Trade casino. It was weird, because all the machines were there and the tables, but they were all roped off. There was a gift shop that was open, and there was something I'm trying to remember about the elevator...maybe it was broken, or maybe we went up in it and it seemed shakey, or was really small and grubby, or...????
