Hey Jim; This "honorary-life-member-of-an-old-fart" <g> has already sent my $100 check to Gene Trimble towards the purchase of these records IF THE CLUB MATCHES MY DONATION.... and I'm opposed to THE CLUB footing the purchase price 100% through a dues increase. However, I will not resign my club membership over this issue, whatever the final decision is.... or over whomever is elected. This resignation talk is a very short-sighted position to take in my view. It sounds like, "if my position isn't accepted, I quit". There will be other controversial issues after this one is resolved which will require serious decision-making by our club officers, and there will be future elections for many many years down the road to replace club officers who do not vote on issues the way the majority of club members wish them to decide. I want to have my say as a club member on those future decisions as well as this possible record purchase controversy. If I resign my club membership, I effectively wind up silencing my own voice as a non-club member.
