... by the club:
I was one of the members who pledged to contribute to a fund designed to acquire chip production records. I did so because I believe that preservation of such records is to the benefit of our hobby.
For the same reason, I support the acquisition of such records by the club, if they can be obtained at a reasonable price. Once purchased, they can be included in the club library and/or museum (once that project becomes a reality).
I also support both a modest increase in membership fees for the purpose of funding such acquisitions ($5-10 a year). For the dual purpose of recouping the cost of acquisition and assisting in the funding for future acquisitions, I also support the imposition of a modest fee to access the records once they are obtained ($5 per request seems reasonable). Neither of these alternatives would necessarily pay the full cost of such records acquisitions, but each would
help accomplish the desired objective (preservation of gaming history and, specifically, chip production history).
