I don't know how common it is but I think that many hotels charge more for "private" bar set ups than at their regular bars. I still don't have any problems with the Trop. My wife and I both had a good experience there. One thing I especially liked was the parking in the back by the convention entrance which was 75 feet from the elevator and had empty spaces even on Saturday night.
