Neat Harris (c.1900)poker chip adv. sample display

I just got this on eBay. It is an advertisement, from about 1900, for Harris (a Brooklyn NY company) poker chips. Back then Harris was a well-known, leading manufacturer of poker chips. The sample chips were holed and then attached to the cardboard with metal fasteners.

Three things I learned from this advertisement piece:

¶ The B, W and R alphabet chips we know are all from the POB monogram series in the Antique Gambling Chips book. No one knew what the "Y" chip looked like from that series (it was a blank space in the book). Now we know. That "Y" on the card must be from the POB series.

¶ Harris chips were nicknamed "The 'Kantbreakem' Kind." (See the last picture here.) They really are "indestructible," which explains why so many survived to this day.

¶ We know that the triangle-shaped chip was called "Geometric" at some time. That is what it is called in the book. On this old card, it is called "Harmony."

(The pictures are of the item wrapped in plastic.)
