I thought the room safes at the Tropicana were great! Much easier to use than the boxes in the cashier's cage at the Orleans. I was surprised that all the chips in my 'trailer' fit easily into the big safe. A 3-4% adder to room cost for safety in the room seemed very reasonable to me.

By the way, you only got charged if you used the safe. If you left it unlocked, there was no charge.
