I just picked this chip up and noticed it had two holes drilled in it. OK, I would think this was a Salesman Sample but there were around 100 in the lot.

Questions:
Would these chips been delivered to a customer this way?
Would Mason & Co drill these chips and sell them for public use?
Did the owner "void" the chips by drilling them?
Was this an early form of chip security? (just joking).
