Now, the chip in the scan appears to have a chunk missing, which you noticed, and the second scan shows what appears to be quite a bit of edge damage. This doesn't jibe with Jim's comment, which is why I suggested he re-scan it. In my mind, David has stated the obvious, as the chip does not appear to be in "new" condition as Jim states above. Maybe it's the scans that are bad, however, and not the chip.
