Legend has it that in the 80's a Turkish gentleman, who started gambling at Binions with a very small stake, ran it up to a little over $20,000,000 (this represented many months of a lucky streak). At the time, Binion's biggest chip was a $5,000 and they had 1,000 of them total. One evening a pit boss called to get a refresher supply of $5,000 chips, and was told that they were all gone. Evidently our Turkish friend had all 1000 chips, $5,000,000 face value, in his Binions safe deposit box! Eventually he gave most of his $20,000,000 in winnings back to Binions, because, as he was quoted, "my ultimate goal was to break the casino, so that I'd be the new owner." I saw this story reported, and the Turk interviewed, on a special Discovery Channel show on Vegas High-Rollers that aired a couple of years ago... WOW!!!
