You can afford more, Dave can afford more, Congress and the Executive branch can afford more, so you all get more. That's what we have now, and we didn't have to borrow a trillion dollars from the Chinese to get here.
I would also suggest that a smug confidence in the ability of the newly classified upper classes to have private supplemental insurance available will be erased when the government, which doesn't need to show a profit, drives private insurance companies out of business. This stuff should be staring you straight in the face, and it should be scaring the hell out of you.
Insurance reform is necessary. Tort reform is necessary. Existing federal medical programs reform is necessary. Fix what we have. This wheel is way too big to try to reinvent.
