I've always been absent minded to the disress of my grand parents who could remember everything. Here's a brief recount of my most recent boo boo. The first day of the show, some good person stopped by my booth and showed me a beautiful crest and seal (at least I think it is a crest & seal--anyway a beautifulinlay chip] with "THE CHRISTIANIA" and a logo of a skier. The trader did not know the source and I assumed it was a cruise ship or possibly something from Norway. I thought I had made a trade; the following day I sought to show it to Allan Myers and could not find it; learned it was from an illegal club in Sun Valley, Idaho. Yes, I know that the chip is in TGT but I didn't have a copy with me and Allan was out adventuring. I didn't have the good sense to ask Ernie Wheeldon about it though he was set up next to us. I then looked for the chip and found I did not have it. I had lost it! I set out to find a replacement. One dealer said he had one for over $100. I was distraught. Then a trader came up and showed me the chip and said "are you now ready to trade?" And I thought, "Good grief. I didn't make the trade; just thought I did." And I traded for a Galveston, Tx chip. I was so happy. Then I got home and opened my box and there were two Christiania chips--I had traded and then put the damned thing back into my own trader binder. So the end result is that I now have two neat Christianias and thus one for trade. So dear reader, if you have come this far, and want a trader let me know. Ultimately, I will scan and post it.
