New chip rules in Reno

I don't know if there is a new marshal in town, but Reno has been singled out for special treatment. Four cage managers have told me the same story. Absolutely, positively no chip sales from the cage. It is my understanding that Las Vegas casinos have not been so restricted. Maybe Reno is the "test market."

Bonanza has never sold chips from the cage, but I had no problem getting the $2.50 HAN chips from the tables. I was allowed to buy in specifically for the $2.50s. Peppermill was equally friendly and I had no problem getting the chips I needed for my New Issues service. Harrah's skirted the whole mess by not issuing a HAN chip this year. As you've read in another thread, Atlantis has taken the "no selling of chips" to a whole new level. I went there yesterday to get some chips, and when I asked a dealer to let me buy in for the stack of chips in her tray that had several HAN chips in it she called the pit boss over. The pit boss laid out the rules in no unceratin terms. The dealer could only let me buy in for the chips at the top of the right-most column, and could only pay my winnings from that area. Period. End of story. Needless to say, I didn't get the chips I needed for my NIS. And I'm not going to go back and go through all that hassle again. If a casino is going to make it this hard to get an LE, why even bother to issue them? I have Bonanza and Peppermill chips available, I do NOT have Atlantis HAN chips for sale.
