yes, I am not looking anything up now, but I recall that the word "casino" is from an old Italian word that originally meant something like "country villa or lodge." I remember that as a kid living in Long Island there was a public swimming pool that had the word "casino" in it. ......I have a simple, cheap metal spoon that has engraved on it "Harlem Casino," almost certainly not a gambling place. Yes, a lot of summer resorts on post cards say "casino", as well as many theatres in NYC way back.
