Am I missing something? The payment method is plainly stated in the auction -- "Money Order / Cashiers Checks". See the line right below your ebay name on the auction page:

When you asked to use a check, he reconsidered, as long as the check clears first. Sounds reasonable to me.

BTW, I use postal money orders with some frequency. Very easy -- just purchase for 80c at any post office.
