Rich - There are three things I never do in this hobby of ours:
1) I never discuss any persons chip inventory that I know nothing about.
2) I never suggest what anyone should do with their personal property.
3) I never put a price on someone else's chip.
If you've been reading what Archie and I have been blabbering about, you would know exactly how I feel about the club owning records that would become available and that would be of value to us all; whether today, tomorrow, or for those who follow us in years to come.
I've never asked that existing records that have been held privately for years be turned over to the club....BUT, if you read what I said, you would understand that I believe the club should discuss the purchase of "future" records that may become available. We're not able to break down someone's door and say: "Give me your papers!" Get my point?
Because I and a few others may be willing to donate should anything come our way does not mean others should, too.
NOW, I have some question for you:
What makes you think the club is willing to spend thousands of dollards for records of one chip mold. Do you assume this? Are you able to answer Archie's question as to who is offering this package to the club (or whomerver)?
