"chip". The round ones are called jetons and the rectangle ones are called plaques. The Sands, Paris and MGM used jetons. The Sands, MGM, Sahara and Aladdin* used plaques.

A fifth casino in Nevada (the namec escapes me now, but in Reno area) also had plaques (fairly recently!).

* The Aladdin had a specially made $10,000,000 plaque. Several collectors managed to get their picture taken holding the plaque. Wish I was one of them!
