Not acceptable behavior
In Response To: $100 Caesars Chip on Ebay ()

Just in case new readers of this bb think this is accepted behavior in the collecting community, I would suggest it is not! There doesn't seem to be any error in the offering of these items on eBay, other than the seller didn't know what they were worth. It appears to me he was getting reasonable bids (and offers outside the auction process). To cancel his auction just because he thinks they may be worth more in the future, or because he would have to pay income tax on the sale are not valid reasons.

If this seller were a Club member, he could probably be subject to a claim for unethical behavior. He is probably subject to an eBay complaint being filed anyway.

I wasn't a bidder, but would file an eBay complaint against the seller if I had been.
