That was my first thought years ago, but local historians doubted it. It's also strange that some thought the club was fully operational up to WWII. There's also plenty of info on the Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club, locally, but nothing to believe gambling went on (or at least not willing to mention that it did). Everyone seemed to discount that the owners of the hotel would have gambling, thus thinking it was a much smaller club [Naples Little Club] and not having anything to do with any hotel or golf locations. Perhaps I didn't speak to the right people...
