Seems that for almost all NV casinos that opened in the few years preceeding and following 1950, there is an assertion that the arodies (whether proved to be from the place in question or not) were the first issue. Then, within no time at all, a further issue, typically TRK or BC Wills appeared. In many cases, an issue determined as '1st' had a casino name, but a subsequent issue had initials only.
My opinion only - It defies logic that RGS would have got the order for every new establishment that opened, and, saw their chips replaced within months.
Those other molds were around long before and surely it is more logical that they were used first, from the 1940's opening dates, until the early 50's when the arodie mold appeared.

One of the early arodie examples Mike quoted was El Rey 1st. My copy of James book lists the chip as a Large Crown and even has a photo. Maybe I have an error copy of the book
