Usually all embedded chips that were made available by casinos were current, live chips at the time of issue [embeddd] (except for the those that were cancelled; such as the drilled Trop paperweights). I would think that's the whole idea behind embedding a high-denom, current chip into an Epoxy holder; the real thing but at the same time non-redeemable. I doubt any casino in any gambling jurisdiction would hand out high-denom chips/jetons/plaques that were on the books. Whatever the correct term (which varies the world over); any device that is not accounted for is not redeemable. vbg
