"And yes Archie you do tend to be "argumentative" about any type of change and by your doing so it may make some think that no change is necessary." Jim E.
Jim; I sincerely wish you good luck and much success for your vision and goals for the future of the club in your election campaign bid for club officer.
Now, in response to your post.... I don't oppose changes that will benefit the club. I do oppose making change merely for the sake of making changes. Sometimes a "no change" policy may be the best way to go.
I also oppose creating paid positions that weaken the successful volunteerism spirit that has taken this club to the levels that are being enjoyed by today's membership. If that position is viewed by some as being "argumentive" ... then so be it. I view it as being candid and up-front in stating an honest opinion.... something that should be encouraged and not stifled.
The best hypothetical question I can ask (without being "argumentive") is;
Does anyone think that by paying a professional Convention Co-ordinator, would produce better conventions than the services that previous convention Chairmen, Mike Skelton and Wayne Thompson, have given to the club for free?
Jim; I'm not your opponent. I truly wish you much success in your endeavors.
