I noticed the same thing on the Wynn Chips...

I'm thinking it has to be an option that probably the casino can pay extra for. After all, isn't it our constitutional right as Americans to have anything we want as long as we are willing to pay for it? vbg

From the folks over at Chiptalk I know that people who place custom orders with ASM can choose to have their inlays oriented a certain way in relation to the edge spots. This is accomplished by meticulous hand placement (!) of the inlays in the molds during the inlay adhesion process. I'm not sure if this is a different step, or at the same time, that the chip is actually molded.

I would imagine that due to the manufacturing volume of Paulson chips they have devised a more technology-based solution. However, with it seeming not to be that important to most casinos and with chip production based in Mexico (where presumably labour costs are cheaper), it might be as low-tech as that.
