"That Gardena Club one of a kind chip that I sold for $441 a few weeks ago generated $13 in Ebay fees and another $17 in paypal fees. That is almost 10% of a rather large sale."

Perhaps the seller may have been happy to clear $400 on the sale of that particular chip? Where else could the seller 'unload' such a chip at that price? Certainly not in his local newspaper classifieds ... and that ad would have cost something to publish as well. Simply put; it costs money to advertise.
