The acquisition of chip manufacturer records could be a very valuable resource to our hobby, I don't think that anyone would disagree. But, has anyone asked if the manufacturer's are willing to donate the records to the club? What are they going to do with the old records anyhow? I learned that if you don't ask for it, you probably won't get it. The chip manufacturers are one of the main beneficiaries of chip collecting, especially for all the Limited Editions that they make. IMHO, I think they should be willing to give back something, that won't cost them anything anyhow, to the hobby that supports them.
