Rich-
There was a turkey carving station (suppose to feed 375), a ham carving station suppose to feed 375), 3 vegetable trays (suppose to feed 100 each), 3 cheese trays (suppose to feed 100 each), 250 sodas, and 50 bottles of wine. At normal hotel catering rates plus cost of the carvers, bartenders and 25% in sales tax and gratuity (mandatory) it comes to about $7000. I haven't seen the final bill but that was the original estimate.
You and I could have bought the food and hired servers for 20% of the cost but unfortunately that is not an option. I do know the food lasted longer than 15 minutes because we held up the presentations until the food was finished. I would guess it lasted about 30-40 minutes.
I'm not saying it was a bargain or a good deal, just a fact of life in LV hotels.
BTW - I was the first in the room and got nothing to eat <G>.
