After returning from the convention I realized that the age of the membership is getting up there; myself included. At the banquet there was a sea of gray hair. We really need to attract some younger members. I know this is not news to most of the club members. However, I have attached an article that was in a local antique magazine, that indicates we are not the only hobby that is suffering this aging problem. It seems that many hobbies are in the same boat. I don't know whether the younger generation doesn't collect the way we do, or if they do collect they don't belong to clubs, but the article points out that most of the collecting clubs do not have websites that are attractive to new members. This is definitely NOT a criticism of our website. I just thought that the article was interesting and maybe some members had some new ideas to attract new members.
I have attached the article. Sorry for the small print but that is the largest size that I could post.
Thanks to everyone involved for a great convention.
